Piper is officially a Terrible Two. We had to celebrate her birthday the day before the real thing as I had a CPR class and had to work on her real birthday. Tragic, I know. She'll never forget the day Mom abandoned her on her birthday.
The kids spent the morning playing outside in the sweltering Minnesota heat. It's amazing how one slip n' slide, three camping chairs and one sandbox cover can keep three kids occupied for so long. Milo & I stayed in the air conditioning and watched them through the window.
As I started to make Piper's cake, Avery scurried around the house making cards for everyone. Because it's Piper's birthday so everyone must have a card.
She then presented this decorated paper towel to me and declared, "Mom, there is just one God. There are no other gods."
After supper, it was time to open the present. The Target clearance find.
Tucker told Piper to open her present.
Piper said, "No way." And then slapped him on the arm.
He bawled.
She poked him in the eye, trying to touch his tears.
But then she finally decided to open it after the kids showed her how.

It's kept her occupied for a few days. Well worth the $8.98.
